Please see below a list of frequently asked questions we often receive:
What is your business background:
Our Business started operating in 2004 and since this time we have grown and we now employ a team of 12 Local Professional and Friendly DJ’s. This now allows us the unique opportunity to select your DJ based on the type of occasion and your specific music requirements. We also have 2 full time office staff ensuring all of your questions and queries can be answered in a timely and professional manner and provides you with excellent customer support in the run up to your event.
What equipment do you use:
Our discos come equipped with the latest modern LED and Laser disco lighting technology, along with a top of the range PA sound system for excellent and balanced sound. We also offer a Venue Up-lighting service and Karaoke should you require it.
What music do you play:
Music is one of the most important aspects of the disco and we understand it can also be one of the biggest worries. For this reason we offer maximum flexibility, whether you want to provide us with a list of “MUST plays” and “MUST NOT plays”, or simply just give us a general feel for the type of thing you would like us to play, we are more than happy to fit in with your preferred style.
Can I supply music for the DJ to play on the night:
This is of course fine, however our personal preference is that you add specific song requests to the “First Dance Memory Stick” (as detailed in Q1) and clearly name the songs so that the DJ knows which song is the First Dance and which song is a general request (again these must be MP3 format). Providing your requests on a Memory Stick makes certain the DJ always has them to hand and has the correct version of the request, however if you’d prefer to submit a physical request list then please do so. We suggest keeping song requests to a maximum of 20 (this is roughly 1 hour of music) provides plenty of music for the night especially when these are combined with the spontaneous requests from your guests, although we are of course entirely flexible on all of this and if you wish to supply more you may do so.
Can we provide a Playlist:
Yes absolutely although we ask you bear in mind that the DJ will be aiming to keep your guests up and dancing, so help him by considering whether your requests will be popular with your guests and therefore continue to keep them up and dancing.
Can we make requests to the DJ:
Feel free to ask the DJ for song requests on the night, he will happily play these for you.
What sort of music will the DJ play:
If you have a style or genre of music in mind for the evening then please let me know as soon as possible (if not already done so), I can then pass this onto the DJ. If you decide to leave it down to the DJ he will play a great mix of music that will suit all of your guests whatever their age. The mix of music will range from classic disco favourites through to modern hits.
What is included in your disco package:
The package includes a Professional DJ for the evening, a full disco including the latest disco lighting available, a Professional Audio Speaker System (also known as a PA System). In addition to this the package includes a professional booking contract, PLI Cover, and the full Active Discos backup service and 247 out of hours assistance.
How much extra do you charge if we need to you to set up at a different time:
We charge £50.00 for our early setup service – this only applies to bookings where there is a need to setup during the day rather than immediately before the disco start time.
How much extra do you charge for Karaoke:
We charge £50.00 extra if you require Karaoke
How much extra do you charge for Uplighters:
We charge £50.00 extra if you require Uplighters. Venue Uplighters are designed to colour wash the venue in any colour of your choice. Each disco price includes disco lights as standard, this additional £50.00 is only if you want to add Uplighters in addition to the disco lights.
At what time do you arrive at the venue:
We arrive approximately 1 hour before the disco start time to assemble the disco equipment (which we do not charge extra for), the booking fee covers the time from when the music begins.

I’m getting married, can I request a song for the “First Dance”:
You are more than welcome to request a First Dance song for the evening; and you can do this in one of two ways. The first way (and our personal preference) is that you supply the First Dance to the DJ on a USB Memory Stick on the night. The best way to do this is to choose your First Dance, move it onto a spare USB Memory Stick as an MP3 file and then give it to your Best Man or one of the guests to later hand to the DJ on the night. The other way is to simply let us know in advance and we will source the First Dance on your behalf. If you would like to do this please let us know at least two weeks before the Wedding to allow us enough time to obtain the music.
I’m getting married, when should we do the First Dance:
This depends on when your evening guests arrive, typically your DJ will provide around an hour of music and then check that you are both ready for the First Dance. He will then introduce you both to the dance floor where the First Dance will then take place.
